BMZ a.s. is based in Spišská Nova Ves, the center of the historical region of Spiš.

The company started with the production of steel structures and assembly for mining in Spiš and Gemer. In the 1970s, production began for the mining and processing industry. The largest deliveries in this period included the production and installation of iron ore separation technology in Ukraine, deliveries of mills to Bolivia, spiral sorters to Iran and regular deliveries of magnetic separators primarily to Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Greece and Cuba.

The production program was changed in the 1990s due to the recession in the mining industry and based on marketing studies. The production was reoriented to the supply of products mainly to the markets of the European Union, and currently exports to the mentioned markets make up 95% of the total production.

BMZ a.s. has more than 100 employees today.
